211. Stags on Woodbridge Hill
Acrylics on cotton canvas 72cm h x 61cm w
In the D'Entrecasteaux Channel region of Tasmania, and around Hobart,
there are trees still standing which were reduced to skeletons
by the devastating 1967 bushfires.
A resemblance to antlers suggested their local name, "stags".
Viewed in the distance from a property at Woodbridge, they create a
poignant contrast to vibrant trees in the foreground.
